Chicken Pasta Primavera

1 pkg. (1 lb.) rotini or linguini
1 lb. cooked chicken, chopped
2 cups chopped broccoli
1 cup sliced carrots
1 medium sweet red pepper, julienned
2 Tbsp. flour
1-1/4 cup heavy cream (or half & half)
3/4 cup chicken broth
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
3/4 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. pepper

Cook pasta according to package directions.  When there are 9 minutes of cooking time left, add carrots.  When there are 5 minutes left, add peppers.  Add chicken during last minute of two of cooking.  While pasta and vegetables are cooking, combine flour, cream and broth in a small saucepan.  Add cheese, salt and pepper.  Bring to a boil, stirring constantly.  Boil 2 minutes; remove from heat.  Drain pasta and vegetables and return to pan.  Pour sauce over all and stir to coat.  Makes 6 servings.
Note:  other vegetables can be added, such as zucchini or green beans, cut into pieces, if desired.
