Zesty Sausage & Beans
1 can (15 oz.) black beans, rinsed and drained
1 can (15 oz.) great northern beans, rinsed and drained
1 can (8 oz.) thick and zesty tomato sauce*
1 medium green pepper, chopped
1 medium onion, chopped
3 bacon strips, cooked and crumbled
1-1/2 Tbsp. brown sugar
1-1/2 Tbsp. cider vinegar
2 garlic cloves, minced
1/8 tsp. dried thyme
1/8 tsp. dried marjoram
1/8 tsp. cayenne pepper
hot cooked rice
In a large skillet, brown the sausage. Transfer to slow cooker; add remaining ingredients (except rice). Cover and cook on low 5-6 hours. Serve with rice. Serves 6.

*I haven't been able to find "thick and zesty" tomato sauce, so I used regular tomato sauce.
